Shopping [쇼핑]: an unofficial practiced form of meditation in Korea.

If you’re a shopaholic, my only advice to you is to get loaded with cash before landing in Korea. This land has everything you have possibly dreamt of, and all of your precious belongings are only one transaction away.

Today, I’m going to share with you some of Korea’s best shopping outlets and stores.

Retail Stores

Through these stores, you can make the best shopping deals. Of course, retail stores can vary from small shops, where you can negociate the price with the seller, to brand variety stores where you won’t have to talk it out because the prices are very satisfying on their own. 

Everybody’s go-to store is Daiso, where you can literally find anything you’re looking for.

Underground Shopping Centers

These are honestly one of the best components of subway stations. You’re just there, hanging around and bam: a shopping center, underground. You can find a little bit of everything from accessories to clothing, and so many more things on the side.

Cosmetics

This segment needs its own article, and it will probably happen … later.

You all know that Korea is the land of beauty products, and their quality is flawless. I’m talking from experience, since my skin is very sensitive and it always acts up when I try random products. Yet, using some of the many Korean beauty product samples I collected during my stay did nothing but soothe my skin.

The list of available Korean beauty brands is longer than my lifespan. Still, I have a weakness for Tonymoly because their products make me feel extra special. I did however try products from Nature Republic, Aritaum, Olive Young, Etude House, Innisfree, and The Body Shop: my face has never felt so majestic.

Stationery Shops

This is my personal heaven, and I’m assuming it could be yours as well.

Just imagine going to a shop that has EVERYTHING. They call them stationery shops but really, they’re shopping stations, period. You can find anything you’re looking for, and sometimes, things start looking for you.

There are many stationery shops out there, but Butter and Artbox are ultimate GOALS.
